Hey Mama, Let’s Talk About Balancing It All! 🌸
I was on a recent coaching call, and this question came up: “How do you balance motherhood, homeschooling, and running a business?” I want to keep it real with you—there’s no perfect balance. There are always dishes in the sink, a dog that needs a walk, and wrinkled laundry waiting to be folded. I accept that I’m NOT a supermom. I’m human. I’ve adapted and grown with each season of motherhood, embracing our family’s unique journey.
🌟Here’s how I’ve managed it all:
✅ Planning is My Best Friend: I’m a planner-at-heart. I set yearly, quarterly, and monthly goals, but stay flexible for life’s curveballs.
✅ Systems for Sanity: Before my little one arrived, I set up online systems for my art classes and coaching, creating passive income streams so I could work from home.
✅ Delegate, Delegate: I used to do it all, but then I realized I needed help. Transitioning from my role as a landscape designer, I began outsourcing design work, allowing me to grow my business while staying home with my daughter.
✅ Mindset and Energetic Work: Postpartum, I invested in personal and business coaching to navigate the identity shift of becoming a mom while running a business. Energy work is key to keeping myself grounded, and mindset truly is everything!
✅ Ask for Help: My husband is a huge support, and we tag-team tasks. At one point during our busiest of seasons we hired a housekeeper and part-time nanny. Don’t be afraid to ask for help or lean on your support network.
✅ Homeschooling Our Way: Our schedule is simple and slow-paced, respecting our child’s natural rhythm. We avoid overscheduling and prioritize downtime, creativity and playing in nature. We’ve embraced unschooling, which offers the flexibility to follow our child’s passions, free from rigid standards. This allows us to focus on self-directed learning and gives me flexibility for work, too.
💫There are lots of moving parts, but it’s not impossible! Your journey might look different from mine. What’s important is finding what works for your family.
So, dream big, mama! Set your goals, find your flow, and don’t be afraid to reach out for support (I’m here 🫶).
