here’s what i would do if i feel like i can’t come up for air

✨ When Creativity Becomes the Reset Button 🎨💛

This week has been a lot. I’ve barely had time to come up for air—let alone paint, exercise, or do anything that felt like self-care. And of course, the self-judgment crept in: “The laundry’s piling up…That corner needed to be decluttered months ago…Ugh, too much sh*t, not enough time.”

Sound familiar?

But then, I caught myself. I chose to pause instead of push. I dropped the judgment and tapped into the sage part of my brain (yes, it’s a thing!). This is the space of stillness, of self-compassion, and love—I dropped into my creative frequency. The moment I let go and picked up the brush, something shifted. The stress softened, the tension lifted, and for the first time in days, I could breathe.

Painting isn’t just art. It’s therapy. It’s a way back to myself. And I know I’m not the only one who needs that reminder.

If you’ve been feeling stretched thin, I see you. Let this be your permission to create—not for productivity, not for perfection, but for you. 💫

1️⃣ Pause & Breathe – Take a deep breath and acknowledge the overwhelm without judgment. Just notice how you feel.

2️⃣ Drop the Self-Criticism – Replace the “I should be doing more” thoughts with compassion. Remind yourself that rest and creativity are productive too.

3️⃣ Create Without Expectation – Grab a paintbrush, an art journal, or even a simple ol’ pencil. Let go of the outcome and just play with color, shapes, or movement.

4️⃣ Sink Into Stillness – As you create, focus on the sensations—how the brush moves, how the colors blend, how your breath slows. Let it be a moving meditation.

5️⃣ Reflect & Reconnect – Afterward, take a moment to check in: How do I feel now? Creativity isn’t just an escape—it’s a way back to yourself. 💛

Would this process help you when you need a reset? Drop a 🫶 if you know where I’m coming from. Let’s remind each other that we deserve space to breathe and just be.

Sending love and a big EXHALE 💕
